TYPES OF SQUINT
Squint treatment options vary based on the type and severity, ensuring personalized and effective care.
- Convergent squint is also known as esotropia, where one eye is turned in towards the nose. This is the most common form of squint seen usually in children.
- Divergent squint is also known as exotropia, where one eye turns out away from the center of the face.
Vertical squint is also known as hypertropia or hypotropia, where one eye moves either upward or downward compared to the other eye. This type may occur due to muscle imbalance or nerve-related issues.
Paralytic squint occurs due to weakness or paralysis of one or more eye muscles, often caused by nerve problems, trauma, or systemic conditions, leading to misalignment and double vision.
