  • Pediatric Ophthalmology
  • Neuro-ophthalmology
  • Low Vision & Contact Lens

Programme includes:

  • Training in OPD for Independent Case Disposals
  • Training in relevant Investigative Procedures
  • Observation/Assisted/Individual Performance of Surgical Procedures
  • Case Discussions, Clinical Meeting Presentations
  • Periodic assessment

Duration:
18 Months

CORNEA, CATARACT, REFRACTIVE SURGERY

Clinical Exposure:

  • External Eye Disorders, Various Corneal Disorders, Ocular Surface Management
  • Refractive Surgery
  • Cataract surgery including topical phacoemulsification.

Investigations:

ORB Scan/Corneal Tomography, Aberrometry, Specular Microscopy, Automated Keratometry, IOL Master 700, Work Up for Refractive Procedures, Corneal Ulcer Work Up, Eye Bank Procedures

Procedures (Performed independently):

  • Phacoemulsification includes topical cases.
  • Penetrating Keratoplasty (Therapeutic) Optical- under supervision
  • Lamellar keratoplasty under supervision
  • Pterygium Excision with conjunctival autograft,
  • Procedures related to Ocular surface Disorders (Amniotic Membrane Grafts, Mucous Membrane Grafts under supervision)
  • Corneal Refractive Procedures: Surface Ablation, Microkeratome LASIK, Femtosecond LASIK, Small Incision Lenticule Extraction under supervision
  • Phakic IOLs, Refractive cataract surgery (Femtosecond Laser-Assisted Cataract Surgery): under supervision
  • The programme will include Case Discussions, Seminars, Clinical Meeting Presentations, Periodic assessment, maintenance of logbook and final exit examination

VETRO RETINAL SURGERY

Programme includes:

Mastering

  • Indirect Ophthalmoscopy
  • Slit Lamp Examination techniques
  • Contact and non-contact lenses

Investigations:

Performing various procedures like

  • FFA
  • ICG
  • OCT
  • USG and Interpreting them in various clinical conditions.

The candidate gets to learn and perform various Vitreoretinal treatment procedures:

Green and Diode lasers in various clinical conditions

  • IL O laser Delivery
  • PDT laser ( observe)
  • ROP laser
  • Intra Vitreal Injection administration
  • Retinal OPD
  • I will get to see and diagnose various clinical cases in OPD
  • Surgeries
  • The candidate gets to assist and perform
  • Scleral buckling procedures
  • Pars Plana Vitrectomies for different clinical conditions (23G, 25G, 27G) under supervision

Academics:

  • There will be clinical case presentations and lectures on Vitreo Retinal topics
  • The candidate is expected to present a paper in national/ state ophthalmic society during his/her tenure
  • Candidates should participate in regular clinical meetings for postgraduates
  • They must maintain their logbook.
  • There will be an exit exam at the end of the tenure

Community Service:

The candidate is expected to attend Diabetic & ROP screening camps and related camps during his/her tenure
