Dr. Purendra Bhasin is a Founder and Medical Director and practising at MBBS, Ms (Ophthamology). His educational background as:

  • MBBS from G.R. Medical College, Gwalior in 1989.
  • MS in Ophthalmology from G.R. Medical College, Gwalior in the year 1993.
  • Fellowship in General Ophthalmology in1994 from Arvind Eye Hospital, Madurai
  • Fellowship in Anterior Segment Microsurgery and Intra-ocular lens implantation, 1995 from ARAVIND EYE HOSPITAL, Madurai and was also honored for imparting training to eye surgeons for IOL surgeries at AEH.
  • Fellowship in Cataract Management & Intraocular Lens Implantation Operation under Dr. Abhay R. Vasavada, a pioneer surgeon in PHACO, Ahmedabad.

WORK EXPERIENCE :

  • Performed more than 25000 Phacoemulsification Surgeries, 35000 cataract & Intraocular Surgeries, and 12000 other Anterior Segment Surgeries like pediatric IOL Glaucoma, Combined & Triple Procedure, Scleral Fix PCIOL, Keratoplasty, Squint Correction, etc. in the last 16 years.
  • Started first ‘ Free Cataract & IOL surgery camp’ for poor and underprivileged patients in Gwalior Region in 1996
  • First to start Scleral Fix IOL in Madhya Pradesh
  • First to perform ICL surgery (Phakic IOL) in Madhya Pradesh
  • First to start LASIK LASER surgery in the region,
  • First to start C3R treatment for Keratoconus and Corneal ectasia in M.P.
  • Started Ratan Jyoti Netralaya, Ophthalmic Institute & Research Centre, Gwalior which was inaugurated by former President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on 15th March 2008

Dr. Dhananjay Shukla completed his post-graduation in Ophthalmology at G.R. Medical College, Gwalior in 1994. He joined Aravind Eye Hospital and Postgraduate Institute, Madurai for a Fellowship in IOL and Anterior Segment Microsurgery in 1995; he subsequently completed another Fellowship in Retina-Vitreous Service at the same center and joined rank as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology in 1998. He continued there and served as a Professor of Ophthalmology & Consultant, Retina-Vitreous Service (2007- 2012). After a brief stint as Medical Director and Vitreoretinal consultant at Centre for Sight, Ludhiana (Sept 2012- April 2014), he is currently working at Ratan Jyoti Netralaya, Gwalior, as Consultant, Retina-Vitreous Service (May 2014 onwards).
He has been the Section Editor, Retina at the Editorial Board of the Indian Journal of Ophthalmology since June 2011. He has contributed more than 70 free papers, posters, and video presentations, and more than 100 faculty lectures at national & international conferences. He has 98 publications (79 as of 1st or corresponding author) in indexed, peer-reviewed journals, including N Engl J Med, Ophthalmology, Arch Ophthalmol, Am J Ophthalmol, SurvOphthalmol, Br J Ophthalmol, RETINA, Indian J Ophthalmol, etc. He is a reviewer for 18 international journals including Ophthalmology, RETINA, Br J Ophthal, etc. He has authored 22 chapters in various textbooks, including one on Eales’ disease in “RETINA” (Ryan SJ, editor-in-chief), the ed., 2013, and the same for “Ryan’s RETINA”(Schachat AP, editor-in-chief), 6thed. 2018 as well as the 7th edition (Sadda S, editor-in-chief; in press).
He was co-investigator in two multicenter randomized clinical trials of drugs Ozurdex and Macugen. He has featured in Marquis Who’s Who in Medicine & Healthcare (2007), Who’s Who in Asia (2007, 2012), Who’s Who in the World (2009), and Who’s Who in Medicine & Health Care (2009, 2011). His current areas of interest include surgical management of macular disorders, pediatric retinal diseases, and retinal vasculitis.
In sports, he won the Athletic Championship (1987-1989) & Tennis championship (1998-91) as a student at G.R. Medical College, Gwalior. As a distance runner now, he has completed 4 certified marathon (42.2km) races (Dec 11, 2016, Feb 25, 2018, April 15, 2019, and Oct 31, 2020), with finish times of 4:01:29, 3:24:04& 3:49:04 hours respectively, the second last being the famous Boston Marathon 2019, for which he qualified the previous year. He also completed Virtual NYRR New York City Marathon 2020, which ran locally due to Covid-19 travel restrictions.

Dr. Manish Pandey works as a Consultant in Ophthalmology at Ratan Jyoti Netralya, Gwalior. He has completed his post-graduation from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi, followed by a fellowship in Glaucoma. He is actively involved with various community eye programs and has been invited as a glaucoma faculty at several conferences of national and international repute. He received training under the guidance and mentorship of Dr.Ramakrishnan; President, GSI at the center of excellence for Glaucoma, Tirunelveli, she has expertise in diagnosing and treating all forms of glaucoma medically as well as surgically.

Dr. Kamalpreet Likhari is an alumnus of Aravind Eye Care System, one of the premier eye institutes of the country, where she did her post-graduation followed by a fellowship in Orbit, Oculoplasty, and Oncology, after MBBS from GR Medical College, Gwalior (1993). She was at Aravind Hospital, Madurai, for over fifteen years and left in 2012 as an associate professor. Personally trained by her mentor DrUsha Kim, she is adept at managing orbital disorders like lacrimal disorders, malignancies, trauma, and congenital defects, including decision making in chemotherapy and customized prosthesis. Her main interest lies in ptosis, lid reconstruction, and orbital surgeries, especially the removal of orbital foreign bodies. However, she is also an accomplished phaco surgeon, having been a trainer of national and international trainees while at her alma mater. She is skilled in SICS as well, having performed over a hundred surgeries several times; though she prides herself on the excellent surgical outcome rather than the numbers, and in performing surgery for all complicated cases like post-uveitis, subluxated or traumatic cataract, and placement of ACIOL, iris fixated IOL and SFIOL. Currently, she is a senior consultant at RJN Eye Institute, Gwalior, where she has been heading the Orbit &Oculoplasty department for the past seven years. She has attended and presented papers at several national and international conferences. She is also a reviewer in many peer-reviewed ophthalmic journals, notably the Indian Journal of Ophthalmology.

He has done Post graduation from G.R. Medical College, Gwalior. He is well versed and trained in Phaco at Arvind Eye Hospital, Coimbatore. Till now, he has performed more than 30000 surgeries including IOL and Glaucoma surgeries. Presently he is working in Incharge of Community services and Consultant- General Ophthalmology and looking after the charitable work of the Ratan Jyoti Charitable Foundation. He is a life member of the All India Ophthalmic Society, M.P. Ophthalmic Society.

Dr. Komal Khetwani is an expert in FVRS. She is capable of performing a wide range of surgical procedures, both simple and complex. She earned her postgraduate degree from MGM Medical College in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Following that, a specialization in Clinical Viteoretina from Shri Ganpati Netralya Jalna (Maharashtra).

She is a member of the All India Ophthalmological Society, the Women’s Ophthalmologist Society, and the MP State Ophthalmologist Society, as well as the winner of the IDEOS Quiz 2016. Her research papers have been published in several reputable journals, and she has spoken at some conferences.

She is an expert in the diagnosis of retina and uvea patients and has a special interest in trauma and diabetic retinopathy.
