WHAT IS SQUINT?
Squint is a disorder in which the eyes of children are not aligned in the same direction.
Squint is generally seen in kids & children and if some adult develops such condition then it is surely recently acquired.

TYPES OF SQUINT
- Convergent squint is also known as esotropia, where one eye is turned in towards the nose. This is the most common form of squint seen usually in children.
- Divergent squint is also known as exotropia, where one eye turns out away from the center of the face.

Squint is the common name for ‘strabismus’ which is the medical term used to describe eyes that are not pointing in the same direction.
Squinting of the eyes may occur occasionally or may be present throughout the day. It may appear in only one eye or may alternate between the two eyes. Squint can occur for many reasons:
- Refractive (focusing) abnormality
- Eye muscle imbalance
- Injury
- Rarely, it can be due to other diseases or illnesses.
Squint can become obvious after chronic illness and it can also run in families.
